COOKIE POLICY

A.What are cookies?

We use cookies when you open our emails and/or when you visit our websites or use apps. Cookies are pieces of information that are stored on your own computer or mobile device and are usually used to optimize the usability of websites and apps.

There are different types of cookies, subdivided by origin, function and lifespan. For a complete overview, you can consult websites such as www.allaboutcookies.org.

Health Mate® uses cookies to:

Improve the use and functionality of its websites and apps;

To analyze how users use our websites and apps and to compile statistics; and

Show the users of our websites and apps personalized information and advertisements.

For example, you can be identified as a visitor to our websites on a subsequent visit and we can increase the ease of use by better tailoring our websites to your wishes and preferences. Cookies can also be used to personalize the content or publicity of a website.

Cookies can be placed by Health Mate® as well as by other parties. When we allow third parties to place cookies on our websites, these parties must contractually guarantee a secure connection over which the data is exchanged.

B. What types of cookies do we use?

Necessary cookies: these cookies ensure that you can navigate through our websites and apps and use the functionalities (such as your privacy settings).

Functional cookies: this type of cookie makes it easier for our websites and apps to function and provides a personalized browsing experience by remembering login names, passwords and preferences, such as the language setting, for example.

Performance cookies: these cookies collect data about the use of our websites and apps, such as the number of visitors, which web pages are popular and the time users spend on a particular web page. Based on the behavior of our users, we can improve our websites and apps and optimize and personalize the user experience. We also use third-party cookies for this purpose, such as: Google Analytics: collects anonymous data about the use of our website and compiling visitor statistics. More information about how Google uses your data can be found at: https://www.google.com/intl/nl/policies/privacy/partners/.

Advertising cookies: based on your surfing behaviour, your demographic and your user data, we can make our advertisements more efficient and better tailored to your interests and only show you personalized advertising messages. With the cookies and tools of the Google advertising network (Google AdWords, Google Match, Adobe Audience Manager and DoubleClick) and of Facebook (Custom Audience), we can also show you advertisements for Health Mate® products on the websites that are part of those networks and services that you may be interested in.

Health Mate  uses Google Enhanced Conversions to improve the accuracy of our conversion measurement. This is done by supplementing existing conversion tags with hashed conversion data from Health Mate to Google in a privacy-secure manner. The feature uses a secure one-way hashing algorithm called SHA256 on first-party customer data, such as email addresses, before sending it to Google. This data is then matched against logged-in Google accounts to attribute campaign conversions to ad events, such as clicks or views. This hashed data contains no personally identifiable information and is only used to report aggregated and anonymised conversions. Google makes every effort to protect the confidentiality and security of the data you share with us.

Social media cookies: these cookies enable the functionalities of social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Consider, for example, a YouTube video with one of our products or services, showing our network of opticians in the store locator or a button for Facebook.

“Cookies” also include similar technologies, such as flash cookies, device fingerprinting, HTML5-local storage and javascripts. Certain pages on our websites also work with pixel tags. These pixels see, among other things, which products you view on our websites. Based on that information, we can then show you relevant advertisements on, for example, Facebook and Google.

C.Management of cookies

You can disable or delete all installed cookies from your computer or mobile device at any time via the settings of your browser cookies. You can find the information on the website of the browser you are using. More general information about managing cookies can be found at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/. In addition, you can choose from the following websites from which companies you no longer wish to receive cookies: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/#completed and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/.

Please note that changing the settings may cause the Health Mate® websites and other websites to malfunction. The same goes for mobile apps.
